Overview
An award-winning financial services organisation is looking for two Underwriters (one permanent, one 6-month FTC) to join its established team. This role offers excellent flexibility, with minimal office attendance and some expenses covered. Open to candidates across the UK (must have right to work with no sponsorship required).
Key Responsibilities
- Assess mortgage applications and supporting documents
- Make informed lending decisions in line with policy and regulation
- Work closely with internal teams and mortgage intermediaries
- Manage a pipeline of cases and maintain accurate records
- Deliver strong customer and broker communication
Skills & Experience
- 2+ years’ mortgage underwriting experience
- Experience with complex lending (e.g. self-build, HNW, self-employed, BTL, HMO, expat, development finance)
- Strong analytical and decision‑making skills
- Confident communicator (phone and face‑to‑face)
- Experience with underwriting systems and MS Office
