They are a technology-driven business with a large-scale ServiceNow ecosystem at the heart of their operations, supporting critical business services across multiple functions and geographies.
The organisation is currently investing heavily in strengthening the security posture of its ServiceNow platform, ensuring it is secure-by-design, compliant with internal governance frameworks, and resilient against evolving cyber threats. This is a business where ServiceNow is not just a ticketing tool; it is a core enterprise platform supporting critical operational workflows.
They are now seeking a Platform Security Expert to take ownership of the end-to-end security posture across their ServiceNow platform. This is a senior individual contributor role, acting as the technical authority for ServiceNow security, working across architecture, platform engineering, and cyber security teams. You will be deeply hands-on in the platform while also shaping security standards and strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities- Own and evolve the security architecture across the ServiceNow platform
- Design and implement robust security controls within ServiceNow
- Manage and enhance ACLs, roles, permissions, and data security models
- Conduct security reviews, risk assessments, and vulnerability remediation
- Ensure alignment with enterprise security and governance standards
- Support secure configuration across ITSM, ITOM, CMDB and related modules
- Collaborate with Cyber Security, Infrastructure, and Platform Engineering teams
- Act as the ServiceNow security SME across the organisation
- Support audits, compliance requirements, and internal security reviews
- Provide strategic input into platform roadmap (security and risk perspective)
- Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow platform engineering or administration
- Deep expertise in ServiceNow security model (ACLs, roles, data security, permissions)
- Experience securing enterprise-scale ServiceNow environments
- Strong understanding of GRC, risk, and platform governance principles
- Experience working with CMDB, ITSM, ITOM or related modules
- Proven experience working alongside Cyber Security teams
- Strong understanding of identity and access management principles
- Ability to operate as a senior SME in a standalone technical capacity
- ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CIS Security, etc.)
- Experience in regulated industries (financial services, government, utilities, etc.)
- Exposure to SecOps / vulnerability response processes
- Cloud security awareness (Azure / AWS environments)
