Our Financial Services client are seeking a new Operational Risk & Controls Manager as they continue along their 5 year growth strategy. The organisation are West Midlands based and operate a hybrid policy of 2 days per week in the office. This is a highly visible role within the organisation and a great opportunity for someone with either limited leadership experience looking to develop or a current leader wanting to build something incredible. The Role Lead and coordinate 1st line risk sampling. Develop and maintain the organisations RCSA framework. Act as the organisations SME on Operational Risk matters. Lead a small team and own the 1st Line Operational Risk & Controls unit. Provide regular reporting on key outcomes, trends and risk profiling. Identify areas of improvement in the organisations Risk Controls. Promote a strong risk culture across the organisation. Key Skills / Requirements Proven experience in an operational risk, controls, incident management type role within financial services at a Senior Analyst and above level with a degree of leadership experience as a minimum e.g. delivering training, mentoring, line management etc. Strong understanding of risk control frameworks, RCSA, controls testing and incident management. Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities. Hands-on personality and hungry to develop a slightly immature function. Qualifications in risk management or compliance are highly desirable.
