Warehouse, Forklift & Production Assistant
We are working with a full service global supplier of innovative and sustainable plastic packaging solutions based in North Norfolk.
They are looking for a Warehouse, Forklift & Production Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis
Hours - average 42 hours per week following a Panama shift pattern - 2 weeks days then 2 weeks nights following a shift pattern 6.00 to 6.00 ( 12 hour shifts)
This role is key in supporting both the production function in ensuring customer requirements are met on time and in full whilst meeting the required quality standards and supply chain by the efficient and safe transportation of goods.
- Main Areas of Responsibility
- Health and Safety awareness ensuring a zero accident mentality following all legal and company procedures.
- Manufacturing performance to plan including recording, resolving and escalating issues to meet defined Quality Criteria.
- Process control and continuous improvement, including quality submissions.
- Pack, label and palletize product.
- Identification and implementation of waste reduction initiatives.
- Proper packaging of the produced goods and disposal of the waste.
- Maintenance of a safe, clean, and tidy work area in cooperation with the other shift workers.
- Completion of relevant documentation in a legible manner, on time and in full.
- Transport scrap items stored in containers to the scrap area, ensuring accurate weight information is taken and recorded.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate, free of damage, reporting any quality and quantity variances.
- Inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment, completing the appropriate records of inspection paperwork on a daily basis.
- Stow all raw materials safely on the racking and aid stock rotation.
- Act as point of contact for warehouse enquiries and problem solving from Production.
- Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Qualified forklift driver - certificated training or refresher training to have been completed within the last 3 years.
- Experience of working within a factory environment - loading and unloading goods and picking stock
- Health & Safety awareness, with ability in managing own risk
