WORKSHOP / PRODUCTION OPERATIVE

BASE: North West of Norwich City Centre

Fulltime hours – Permanent role

HOURS: During this client's busy (peak period) they will need people to work 7am – 6pm Mon to Fri with some Saturday mornings work on a rota basis as well.

SALARY: Based on experience a pay range of £13.53 p/hr – £13.84 p/hr, this is based on a 40 hour week with the opportunity of regular weekly overtime at an enhanced rate, during their peak period.

JOB ROLE: To assist with or complete the manufacturing, production and assembly of our clients fabricated products and affiliated clients products using a variety of hand or power tools, working from technical drawings & complying at all times with assembly methods and new solutions developed through close liaison with customers and in accordance with agreed fabrication principles and procedures.

Must have a flexible approach to working hours and be able to work extended hours on occasions when required. Longer hours normally required during Winter business peak (December to March inclusive). Normal working hours are 7:00am – 6:00pm (During the peak period) Basic hours 8:30am – 5:00pm Mon – Fri lunch 1:00-1:30pm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • To assist with or complete the construction, production and assembly of company products using a variety of hand tools or power tools, complying at all times with clients defined safe practices and methods, having the experience & knowledge of working from technical drawings is a distinct advantage.
  • To fabricate and assemble sub-assemblies with sufficient lead time to enable others to complete products as scheduled.
  • Liaise with the Workshop Manager, to implement work schedules to ensure the timely completion of all sales orders.
  • Ensure a high standard of quality production with continuous improvement, reporting any problems or potential problems to the Workshop Manager.
  • Train to be able to carry out the maximum range of tasks, for which they are capable, within the workshop department.
  • Comply with all aspects of the clients Health and Safety procedures at all times, ensuring any concerns are brought to the attention of the Workshop Manager without delay.
  • Ensure that all defined personal protection equipment is utilised within the workshop or for the safe use of hand held tools e.g. hand routers, grinders, etc.
