Job Role: Toolroom Technician Department: Engineering Toolroom Location: Norwich, Norfolk UK. Full time, permanent role. Mon to Fri Days/Lates (Apply online only)/ (Apply online only) & (Sat every 2nd wk (Apply online only) with a 2100 finish on the Friday night before) - £38,137.16 to £40,997.54 based around experience. OR Rotational Shift - 4 on 4 off 12hr shifts 2days/2nights (Apply online only)/(Apply online only) - £42,899.34 to £46,116.75 based around experience. Purpose of the Role To carry out the maintenance, cleaning, servicing and basic repair of injection mould tools to ensure maximum tool performance and minimal disruption to production. The role supports Toolroom Engineers in maintaining tooling, fault finding, repairs and production readiness. Key Responsibilities * Tool Maintenance * Clean, service and maintain injection mould tools. * Strip, inspect and reassemble tooling following established procedures. * Assist with mould changes and tooling preparation for production. * Support preventative maintenance activities. * Inspection and Repairs * Inspect tools for wear, damage and contamination. * Identify and report faults affecting tool performance. * Replace worn components including seals, O-rings, pins, springs and fittings. * Carry out basic repairs, polishing and finishing work. * Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Cooling Systems * Check systems for leaks, blockages or damage. * Replace basic components such as hoses and fittings. * Ensure cooling channels remain clean and operational. * Toolroom Support * Assist Toolroom Engineers with repairs, breakdowns and tool builds. * Support tooling trials and production start-ups. * Prepare tooling for external servicing or trials. * Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment. * Documentation and Compliance * Complete maintenance records and checklists. * Follow all risk assessments, procedures and health & safety requirements. * Ensure work is completed to quality and company standards. * Key Accountabilities * Assess tooling condition and determine required cleaning and routine repairs. * Safely operate hand tools, measuring equipment, lifting equipment and overhead cranes (where trained and authorised). * Recommend replacement parts when required. * Provide occasional support and guidance to apprentices. Person Specification Essential Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment. Good mechanical aptitude and practical skills. Ability to use hand tools and workshop equipment safely. Strong attention to detail. Good communication and teamwork skills. Desirable Experience working with injection mould tools. Knowledge of hot runner systems. Overhead crane certification or experience. Engineering or mechanical qualification. Key Relationships Toolroom Team Leader – Work allocation and technical guidance. Toolroom Engineers – Support with maintenance and repairs. Development Engineers – Process and tooling support. Setters – Feedback on tooling and production issues. What our client offers.....
