Technique Recruitment Solutions are a specialist Engineering & Manufacturing recruitment company working with our client who are a long established worldwide Non food manufacturing company based in Norwich. They are seeking a Non food manufacturing Service Operator on their rotating day/night shift from a previous manufacturing background, this will be ongoing fulltime work.

Job Role: Manufacturing Service Operative - Rotational Shifts

Location: Norwich

Pay rate: £14.61 p/hr

Rolling shift pattern: 2 days 0545 – 18.00 pm and then 2 nights 17.45 – 06.00 am, then 4 days off. So it is 4 x 12 hour shifts on a rolling 4 day pattern.

Ongoing work for the right candidate, the work is paid weekly, and the pay rate is £14.61 per hour, with training given; some previous manufacturing/production experience is required though.

Responsibilities include:

  • Running the Production Machines in a safe manner and in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure that the machines are continually operating correctly and achieving optimum performance in terms of quality and output.
  • Starting and stopping machines as required in a safe manner and attending to minor breakdowns on machinery escalating issues where appropriate to Setters or Maintenance personnel.
  • Packing, Labelling, and Palletising of product in line with the SOPs relating to specific lines and products.
  • Carrying out quality checks; involving hourly inspection of the product, quarantining and back checking components and completing associated documentation.
  • Running machinery and attending to remedial line stoppages, minimising downtime throughout the shift.
  • Safely starting and stopping injection moulding machines and auxiliary assembly equipment as per SOPs when required.
  • Carrying out Barrel Purges on injection moulding machines.
  • Responding to emergency oil and water leaks/bursts on machinery ensuring the appropriate procedure is followed for stopping the machine depending on the severity of the leak before informing a Setter or member of the Maintenance Team and assisting with the clean-up.
  • Collecting materials and continually filling the hoppers throughout the shift as required.
  • Emptying waste bins and recycling and weighing scrap.
  • General housekeeping activities and ensuring the work area is kept clean and tidy.
  • Completing log books with BOM (Bill of Materials) details.
  • Recording production in the respective log books and for new works orders on the new sheet.
  • Recording traceability information in log books.
  • Recording any machine issues in the log books.
  • Passing any comments related to the efficiency of the line on to the on-coming shift.
  • Ensuring all stoppages and new orders are recorded on BARCO.
  • Providing stand in relief cover for other Process or Service Operators for tea and meal breaks.
  • Carrying out resort and box making activities when instructed.
  • Any other responsible duties as required by the Team Leader that falls within the scope of this role and the department.
