Our client has been designing and manufacturing electrical heating and cooling solutions since 1973. Employing 750 people across 10 manufacturing locations, they currently service 30,000 customers in 100 different countries across the globe and is an ISO 9001 v 2015 accredited company. Due to continued expansion they have a new opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join their team in Norwich. The role offers hybrid working and flexible working hours with the opportunity of occasional overseas travel when required.
This role will involve Project Management and management of a small team of Project Managers.
Responsibilities- Responsible for the day-to-day design and management of all contracts allocated by the Director of Projects, including the interface with client, sub-contractors and internal staff as necessary.
- Responsible for following the project from design, through procurement and into production to ensure timely completion as per client contract.
- Responsible for contractual milestones, in conjunction with the Project Control Manager, ensuring that all milestone deliverables required for invoice are complete, collated and passed to finance for invoicing purposes.
- Responsible for the review of the Sales Handover information along with any applicable client specifications to ensure correctness of design.
- Where applicable, liaise with the control systems designer to ensure that the proposed design scheme interfaces correctly.
- Where applicable, liaise directly with third party manufacturers/design houses to ensure the completion of external design activities.
- Generation and submission of all contractually required documentation.
- Liaison with European production/purchasing managers to ensure that component procurement is ongoing and that the overall contractual completion date is met.
- As applicable provide necessary design/technical support to the contract Project Manager.
- As applicable take responsibility for managing projects as assigned by the Director of Projects.
- Some overseas travel will be required as part of the role.
The role of Senior Project Manager encompasses the above but also requires the individual to take responsibility for and follow up with individual Project Managers to ensure that internal milestones are met and to provide Project Managers with additional support with client dispute/issue resolution reporting directly to the Director of Project Management.
Qualifications and experienceThis position would suit somebody with engineering design experience or knowledge along with experience in a manufactured product environment. Project Management of engineered product and customer Management and negotiation is also a key part of the role.
