Role Overview
Our customer is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Graduate Civil Engineer to join their Norfolk-based team. The successful candidate will assist in the design of foul and surface water drainage systems, support the completion of flood risk assessments, and contribute to water quality assessments. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive and innovative consultancy with a strong commitment to developing young talent.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design of foul and surface water drainage systems to relevant UK standards.
- Assist in the completion of Flood Risk Assessments (FRA).
- Contribute to water quality assessments and sustainable drainage strategies.
- Use AutoCAD to produce and update engineering drawings.
- Develop skills using hydraulic modelling software such as Causeway Flow or similar.
- Collaborate with team members, clients, and partners to ensure effective project delivery.
- Participate in internal training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Experience in a civil/environmental engineering role (including internships or placements).
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with principles of drainage design and UK planning guidance.
- Self-motivated with good communication and organisational skills.
- Strong interest in environmental engineering and water quality.
- Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field.
Desirable:
- Exposure to hydraulic modelling software (e.g., Causeway Flow, InfoDrainage).
- Understanding of SuDS and sustainable drainage techniques.
- Eagerness to pursue professional development and chartership (ICE, CIWEM).
