Our customer is a leading producer of differentiated dispensing solutions for personal care, food and healthcare products, who operates a global network of 19 facilities predominantly in Europe and the Americas. The main purpose of the role is to support the QHSE Manager and the wider business team in achieving adherence to the environmental, health and safety standards of the business according to legislation and procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience of working within H&S in a lead role, ideally within a FMCG environment.
- NEBOSH - general certification (essential).
- Good knowledge of current HSE legislation and HSE best practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support on all aspects of health, safety, environment to include risk management, and ensuring compliance across the organisation.
- Develop and support the delivery of HSE training programs for all colleagues (including inductions to new starters), contractors, and management.
- Do/Teach/Coach/Audit approach to improve operational team capability, engaging to improve and drive HSE standards and champion a culture of safety first.
- Provide training relating to business KPIs to include safety observations accident and incident reporting.
- Lead investigations of incidents, near misses, and accidents.
- Develop corrective/preventive action plans (CAPA) and ensure timely closure.
- Collate accident statistics, categorise accidents and undertake trend analysis.
- Prepare, collate and review safety related documentation submitted by both internal and external stakeholders - to include Safety Plans, Business contingency plans and training documents.
- Develop with QHSE, and test emergency response plans.
- Coordinate drills and ensure readiness of emergency equipment and teams.
- Regularly review EHS related policies and procedures with the QHSE manager.
- Ensure site compliance with the company Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Undertake QHSE and compliance audits and implement corrective measures as required.
- Lead the development and review of risk assessments for all areas of the business.
- Maintain the management system and identify and implement initiatives to improve it including all procedures, processes, safe systems of work, and risk assessments.
- Active involvement in promoting a proactive Quality & Safety Culture to the site, including the H&S committee.
- Ensure the business has sufficient First Aider and Fire Marshall cover for the 24/7 operation.
- Hold regular communications with the First Aiders and Fire Marshalls to inform of any changes to policies, regulations and issues raised.
- Support contractor and visitor management.
- Liaise with government authorities, contractors, and third parties on HSE matters.
- Promote colleague participation in HSE programs and initiatives.

- Compliance to H&S standards as per HSE company standards.
- Audit compliance in ISO9001/14001 or 45001.
- Successful completion & follow up to support close out of internal audits.
- Reduction of internal NC's in line with company HSE standards.
- Adherence to Quality Roadmap/Plan.
- EH&S training to be completed as per company and HSE standards.
- Closure of all incident/accidents as per company and HSE standards.
- HSE Training compliance.
- Quarterly emergency response drills to include all shift patterns.
