The Role
We are seeking a Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team. This is a full life-cycle product design and development role, focused on design for manufacture (DFM). You will be responsible for developing new products and improving existing designs while working closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure highly integrated and manufacturable solutions are delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical products from concept through to manufacture
- Produce detailed 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks
- Generate high-quality manufacturing drawings, including full tolerances and finishing specifications
- Work collaboratively with manufacturing and other engineering teams to optimise designs for production
- Support continuous product improvement and innovation
- Ensure designs meet quality, cost, and performance requirements
Requirements
- Experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing environment
- Design experience within the food manufacturing or food processing industry
- Strong SolidWorks experience
- Proven experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings with tolerances and finishing specifications
- A practical understanding of design for manufacture
Working Hours
Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm. Overtime available and paid at time and a half.
