My client supplies windows and doors to the trade and is looking for a driver/warehouse person to join their team on a permanent basis who has previous experience in driving a van and loading/unloading heavy products with care and attention.
Job Purpose
The Driver/Warehouse Operative performs quite a physical role that offers support to team and customers by maintaining high levels of service in the delivery and receipt of goods. They will take pride in their branch and support their colleagues with the light maintenance and upkeep of the branch. They will be customer focused and recognise the importance of their role in acting as the face of the Company.
Key Tasks
- To liaise with customers to arrange delivery of goods to them in a timely and professional manner.
- To accept cash payment from customers in line with Company standard, as and when required.
- To accept receipt of deliveries from suppliers and ensure that the goods have come in a suitable condition.
- To maintain the standards expected in the branch, the warehouse and the Company vehicle.
- To ensure that shelves are stocked as needed and that the stock is in good condition.
- To pick stock and organise loads within the warehouse ready for despatch.
- To keep outside areas of the branch clear, including the car park and any skip areas.
- To help maintain any displays in branch which are used to advertise the Company and its products.
- To be an ambassador of the Company and act accordingly.
- To be mindful of branch targets and make efforts to help the team reach those targets.
- Dealing with customer complaints and queries, and dealing with them in an appropriate manner, escalating them where necessary.
- To deliver excellent customer service in line with the Company’s vision – we want our customers to be “sorted”.
- To work in a safe and responsible manner.
- To perform any other reasonable instruction.
