Join us as a Service Project Manager at our Altens site in Aberdeen, where you’ll play a central role in driving high-quality service delivery across our well-established energy operations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys leading teams, building strong customer relationships, and taking full ownership of project success from start to finish. In this role, you will lead a dedicated service project team—including FST Supervisors, Technicians assigned to your projects, and key support functions—to ensure seamless execution and delivery. You’ll be the primary point of contact for customers across all service and aftermarket activities, representing the company with professionalism and commercial awareness. As a Service Project Manager, you’ll oversee the commercial, operational, logistical, risk, financial, and scheduling aspects of each project, working with a clear goal: delivering safe, efficient, and successful outcomes for your customers. It’s a dynamic position where no two days are the same, and your leadership will directly influence customer satisfaction and overall project performance.
General Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring that all assigned work tasks are performed in accordance with TechnipFMC policies and HSEQ requirements.
- Report project performance to Service Management monthly and inform them in the event that business critical decisions must be made.
- The contractual point of contact to the customer responsible for all Service and Aftermarket activities.
- Shall fulfil the role of project leader, managing a dedicated service project team daily.
- Lead by example, actively promote, and contribute to a positive working environment within your service project team and toward other departments.
- Responsible for managing the commercial terms (contract), schedule (forecast and FST planning), offshore operations, onshore storage, risk, financial performance and all project deliverables.
- Responsible for cost control within projects and maintaining a forecast for project revenue updated monthly.
- Responsible for ensuring risk management is implemented with the project, recording, monitoring and managing all risks via TechnipFMC Risk Management tool.
- Responsible for ensuring all project meetings are scheduled and executed as required (e.g., project kick-off meetings, pre-job meetings, section close out meetings, risk management meetings).
- Responsible for inventory control offshore, including stock count and/or inventory checks.
- Responsible for active contribution towards the Service and Aftermarket department objectives.
- Actively promote and work in accordance with TechnipFMC’s core values.
Main Tasks
- Achieve a full and detailed understanding of your assigned customer contract.
- Attend internal and external customer meetings on location, prepare and give presentations regarding project performance as required.
- Ensure a project kick-off meeting is conducted with all service project team and supporting functions for every project to review scope of work, set clear expectations, and project milestones.
- Ensure all team members fully understand their role and responsibility within the service project team.
- Provide guidance, direction and support to your service project team daily as required both onshore and offshore.
- Provide a long-term (12 month) FST forecast demand to the FST department and update monthly.
- Ensure that all operational documents and templates used for execution of project objectives are in accordance with the BPMS or revision controlled LWIs.
- Ensure weekly service project meetings are scheduled to review checklists for upcoming operations.
- Coordinate all EFNCR’s, SN’s and QN’s related to your project as required.
- Ensure that pre-job meetings with FST Supervisors are conducted and documented ahead of starting a new project and during every crew change.
- Ensure that all spare parts and consumables used offshore are recorded and billed accordingly.
- Create PRs required for service project execution in line with DoA.
- Ensure that section close out meetings are conducted and documented after every section.
- Notify hardware PM regarding installed equipment for invoicing purposes after each section close out meeting where applicable.
- Monitoring financial performance monthly: revenue vs. budget, cost of sales and GM with finance.
- Responsible for on-time invoicing for all project deliverables.
- Provide customer reports, maintain and monitor customer KPI in line with contractual obligations.
- Identify and seek opportunities to generate additional services.
- Provide variation orders and/or quotation to customer for additional services as required.
- Provide key input to help develop and continuously improve local department processes and procedures in line with GBPMS.
Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical background (relevant experience may substitute).
- Project Management experience.
- Oil & gas experience in a relevant role (e.g., Service Technician, Field Engineer, Wellhead/XT Engineer, System Engineer, Project Engineer) working with surface equipment.
- Solid understanding of surface wellhead equipment, tooling, and accessories.
- Knowledge of industry standards (API, ISO, NORSOK).
- Experience with SAP.
- Understanding of refurbishment and recertification processes (QCPs, ITPs).
- Familiarity with lean tools (preferably 5S).
- Strong risk management awareness.
- Financial and commercial understanding.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
