We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team located in Altens, Aberdeen. The Quality Engineer plays a critical role in supporting base operations by maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality across all activities. To deliver projects, equipment and services to fulfil quality‑focused delivery in alignment with project schedules, refurbishment scopes, and inspection and quality plans in compliance with recognised international standards and internal policies and procedures.
Main tasks for the Quality Engineer include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Project and service department support: Support project delivery teams by maintaining compliance with safety, quality, environment and technical requirements. Prepare Quality and Inspection and Test Plans for product refurbishment, service delivery and occasional new manufacture. Liaise with Service project managers, planners, workshop and inspectors to ensure quality requirements are understood and met. Ensure timely and quality‑focused delivery of equipment and supporting quality documentation in accordance with project schedules, refurbishment scopes, and quality and inspection and test plans. Liaise proactively with engineering, project managers, workshop personnel, and QC inspectors and QHSES Manager, to resolve quality‑related issues.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct internal audits and support external and client inspections. Support the implementation of the Quality Management System in line with API Q2, ISO 9001, and other relevant standards. Identify and upscale non‑conformances, lead root cause analysis and manage corrective and preventive actions. Monitor Engineering Notification Changes (ECNs) to define and initiate QC intervention and work scopes. Liaise with Engineering on dispositions raised. Compile material review books (MRB) and Certificate of Conformity (COC) as and when required. Monitor calibration of equipment and co‑ordinate requisitions. Support the QHSES Manager to facilitate 3rd party inspections and customer audits. Assist the QHSES Manager in routine quality activities to promote a strong quality culture across the base. Support and promote continuous improvement initiatives within the service base. Participate in site meetings and advise on quality related matters. Provide support to colleagues to register quality incidents/defects (internal and customer) in the appropriate system. Facilitate investigation, identification of RCA and corrective and preventive actions through to implementation and close‑out. Perform quality analysis and prepare and present reports as and when required.
You are meant for this job if:
- Diploma or Degree in engineering, Quality Engineering or Professional Quality qualification, however experience can compensate for lack of formal qualification.
- Proven work experience in Quality Assurance /Quality Control.
- Experience in energy industry (Service) (preferred).
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, product specifications.
