Job Purpose
Reporting to the QHSES Manager, Surface UK, the QHSES Advisor acts as a key advisor to management and operational teams, leading the implementation of QHSES programmes, monitoring business compliance and driving continual improvement across all aspects of quality, health, safety, environment and security.
The role ensures operational risks are effectively managed, statutory and customer requirements are met, and a positive QHSES culture is embedded throughout Surface UK to support sustainable business performance and operational excellence.
Requirement to work in an international organization with 20,000 employees worldwide.
The role is within the Surface East Service and Aftermarket division which provides multi product lines including Surface Wellheads and Pressure Control and Flowline, Service and Aftermarket services to local customers.
The QHSES Advisor plays a pivotal role ensuring our quality standards remains a high focus.
Job Description
- Main tasks for the QHSES Advisor include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Management System Compliance
- Support the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the Integrated QHSES Management System.
- Ensure compliance with Technip FMC policies, customer requirements, industry standards and applicable legal obligations.
- Assist with maintaining certifications and registrations including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and API Q2.
- Monitor changes in legislation, standards and customer requirements and communicate impacts to the business.
- Quality Assurance and Quality Control
- Support service, refurbishment, maintenance and project activities to ensure quality requirements are identified, planned and achieved.
- Develop, review and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality plans and supporting quality documentation.
- Manage non-conformances, customer complaints and quality incidents, including root cause analysis and corrective action verification.
- Facilitate customer, third-party and certification body audits and inspections.
- Monitor quality performance indicators and identify opportunities for continual improvement.
- Plan and conduct internal audits against company procedures, customer requirements and international standards.
- Track audit findings and verify completion of corrective actions.
- Support external audits conducted by customers, certification bodies and regulatory authorities.
- Provide assurance reporting to management on QHSES performance and compliance status.
- Health and Safety
- Provide advice and guidance to management, supervisors and employees on health and safety matters.
- Support risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work.
- Assist with incident reporting, investigation, trend analysis and corrective actions.
- Promote occupational health initiatives including health surveillance programmes and wellbeing campaigns.
- Participate in emergency preparedness exercises and business continuity activities.
- Deliver QHSES inductions, awareness sessions and toolbox talks.
- Coach employees and supervisors on quality, safety, environmental and security requirements.
- Promote a positive reporting culture and employee engagement in QHSES initiatives.
- Support behavioural safety and continuous improvement programmes.
- Support compliance with environmental permits, waste management requirements and environmental procedures.
- Monitor environmental performance, objectives and targets.
- Assist with environmental inspections and audits.
- Promote waste reduction, pollution prevention and responsible resource usage initiatives.
- Investigate environmental incidents and support corrective actions where required.
- Security
- Promote compliance with site security requirements and Technip FMC security procedures.
- Support implementation of security awareness programmes and security risk assessments.
- Participate in investigations relating to security incidents and breaches.
- Assist with contractor and visitor control processes to protect personnel, assets and information.
- Support business resilience and crisis management arrangements.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/FORMAL EDUCATION
- Relevant vocational or technical qualifications supported by significant operational quality experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree
- HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Quality Management, Engineering, Health & Safety, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent occupational health and safety qualification).
- Lead Auditor qualification with experience auditing management systems.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 management system requirements.
- Working knowledge of API Q2 and customer-specific quality requirements within the oil and gas sector.
- Understanding of UK health, safety and environmental legislation applicable to engineering, manufacturing and service operations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience in energy industry (Service) (preferred)
- ERP knowledge e. g., SAP (desired)
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, product specifications
REQUIRED CERTIFICATE(S)
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- Membership of IOSH, CQI, IEMA or relevant professional body.

- REQUIRED JOB KNOWLEDGE
- Product knowledge of oilfield products (preferred)
- Understanding of ISO 9001, API Q2 standards.
