We are looking for a QC Lead Inspector to join our Surface team in Altens, Aberdeen. To primarily provide QC leadership, support and advice to the Base Operations and Offshore Service project teams influencing a positive QHSE culture. Preparing and implementing Inspection Plans ensuring compliance with industry and client requirements. Support teams to identify and implement improvements that result in improved safety, quality, cost, utilizing appropriate tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, Root Cause Analysis.
Job Description:
- Co-ordinate QC department daily tasks liaising with Workshop Manager, Planning Department and Project teams.
- Align resources with work schedules and requirements.
- Ensure that all equipment is inspected in accordance with TechnipFMC Technical Specifications, Engineering Drawings, Product Specifications and Purchase Order requirements.
- Lead specialised, complex inspections. Advise on tools and inspection criteria and inspection strategy.
- Ensure that all support documentation is verified in accordance with TechnipFMC Technical Specifications, Engineering Drawings, Product Specifications and Purchase Order requirements.
- Carry out NDE as per Company Standards.
- Understand premium thread make up damage and fit verification.
- Independently carries out inspection of premium connectors e.g. VAM Top, evaluates seal areas, torque shoulder surfaces ensuring compliance with OEM acceptance criteria and TFMC standards.
- Ensure all activities undertaken are supported with an auditable trail of records, and that these records are maintained in line with the organizations’ Quality Management System requirements.
- Ensure all QC related transactions within the SAP Database are correctly processed.
- Contribute with input to repair scope for MMR activities.
- Report on technical requirements and advanced measurement methods.
- Provides interpretation of complex specifications and mentor others on technical standards.
- Raise and maintain control of Non-Conformance Reports, interfacing with workshop, engineering and field services to resolve quality issues, lead root cause analysis and verify corrective actions.
- Lead an 8D RCA for a complex investigation.
- Attend and participate in operational project review meetings and pre-job kick off meetings to provide input on the feasibility and scope of carrying out the planned activities.
- Witness gas pressure test and sign off record.
- Resolve any TPI findings/concerns.
- ECN processing.
- Liaise with QHSES Manager on quality related issues.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement and encourage continuous improvement, especially in standardization, 5S, etc.
- Lead assigned internal audits as per the annual audit plan and TechnipFMC procedures.
- Manage and maintain inspection equipment calibration, provide recommendations for new equipment.
- Develop and review quality control procedures.
- Advise on the content of a CoC & MRB pack through interpretation of standards and customer contract or other agreement.
- Prepare packages for more complex, critical or high risk items to present to Customers and TPI's.
- Perform work in compliance with all applicable HSE requirements, proactively identify and mitigate HSE hazards, attend HSE training, use mandatory personal protective equipment.
- Coaches and mentors others in the team.
- Build relationships with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
Knowledge / Formal Education:
- Completed secondary school.
- Technical knowledge of industry specific standards i.e. API 6A, API 6AR, API Q2, ISO 9001.
Experience:
- Experience using QC tools.
- Proven experience in a QC Lead or Senior QC role preferably in Oil and Gas industry (Wellhead and pressure control equipment).
- Excellent PC skills (Office 365).
- ERP knowledge e.g. SAP.
- Desired Faro-arm experience.
- NDE experience (MPI and LPI).
Certificates:
- Desired ISO 9712 - NDT level 2 (SNT).
- Desired NS1-2 Drill String Manufacture Inspection (or similar).
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Training.
