Job Purpose
We are currently looking for a Life of Field Engineer to join our engineering team in Dunfermline.
The role will be within the UK market supporting UK service bases and customers, to provide technical support to greenfield and brownfield installation and intervention, aftermarket support, integrity, maintenance, modification & repair and life-extension activities across the Surface Drilling & Completion portfolio.
Ensuring compliance and adherence to Technip FMC standards, procedures, processes, schedules, and budget, with a continuous concern for quality, targets, and customer satisfaction.
The role also supports the UK based Life of Field Technical Lead in developing and improving process and procedural governance across the Surface D&C Wellhead and i Explore portfolios, to leverage synergies and drive efficiencies.
Job Description
- Provide engineering solutions to multiple functions within business, including workshop, offshore technicians and wider Life of Field Engineering teams, by deploying knowledge of engineering theory, mathematics and practical mechanics to solve design and operational problems.
- Support the products and customers within the service space by managing and improving documentation and procedures.
- Dispositioning of product and procedural non‑conformance.
- Ensure compliance with Technip FMC, Industry and Customer policies, standards & regulations.
- Ensure engineering output supports right first time, reliable and safe products and services.
- Works in line with Technip FMC Management System, adopting Leadership Standard behaviors.
- Support Life of Field Technical Lead in cross portfolio process and service improvement activities and initiatives.
- Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or related Engineering essential.
- Required Technical Skills
- Mechanical Design Principles.
- Material science, particularly metals, elastomers, coatings.
- Engineering calculations as they relate to mechanical integrity and design capacity of mechanical systems, components and pressure vessels.
- Problem solving and root cause analysis processes and methodologies.
- Understanding of wellhead system installation operation and servicing.
- Industrial systems.
- Interpretation of specifications/drawings.
- Engineering and project management tools: CAD (Unigraphics/NX/Microstation), Mathcad, TCE, SAP and MS office.
- Desired Experience
- Experience in Oil Field or similar Engineering.
- Knowledge of Surface and/or Subsea drilling and completion products, applications and technologies.
- Knowledge of applicable industrial standards or requirements (ISO 9001, NORSOK, API 6A, API Q1, API 17D).
- Background in, or knowledge of mechanical or hydraulic systems, pressure vessels and/or product design.
