Job Purpose

To execute (in conjunction with the project specific installation engineers) the mobilisation and offshore execution installation engineering for a Dive Support Vessel within a VSO iEPCI execution stream. To identify and implement standard work in order to facilitate continuous improvement of projects offshore execution activities.

Job Scope

To support safe and efficient project preparation, mobilisation and offshore execution and foster coordination and synergies between projects and minimise interfaces. To provide an interface between the execution team (onshore based) and the vessel crew during project preparation. To contribute to Offshore Industrialization through standard work development, installation track record, lesson learned, best practices and pro-actively sharing expertise and knowledge with others.

Offshore:

  • Support Offshore Management Team (OMT) and vessel execution stream in mobilisation, offshore execution, and demobilisation activities by providing technical interface between vessel departments (e.g. Marine, Dive / Pipelay Control, VLS, ROV, Survey, Deck etc) and Logistics onshore.
  • Provide vessel familiarization for new engineers allocated to Execution Streams when coming onboard the vessel.
  • Promote and ensure all project documentation & media is filed in line with approved offshore filing structures.
  • Fully support and assist installation engineers in ensuring efficient day-to-day performance including issue of task plans / dive plans and management of change (CRFs).
  • Support the Offshore Lead with Diving Project Plan (DPP) / construction project plan (CPP) documentation issuance as required.
  • Issue of Port Call Management Plans (PCMP).
  • Actively participate in toolbox talks, Task Risk Assessments (TRA), time outs for safety, permit to work.
  • Support vessel performance analysis by reviewing performance indicators (Review Offshore CRF Categorisation, schedule variance analysis Vs Standard).
  • Prepare and support the issuance and updated revision of the operation execution report / operations debrief report for each trip (with support from vessel OMT and clients for required inputs), with support from Offshore Lead & Execution lead.
  • Provide input to the track record file of vessel operations.

Execution

  • Support as required the Deputy Execution Manager(s) with tender preparation & projects execution by taking in reviewing deliverables before their submissions (vessel schedule review, applicability of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), HIRAs, method statements, procedures, lift plans, deck layouts and Material Take Off (MTO)) focusing on vessel specifics and application of Standard Work.
  • Participate in Execution Routine meetings.
  • Provide inputs to Vessel list of Standard Installation Aids and equipment to track location & condition.
  • Participate actively in Equipment coordination meetings.

Industrialization

  • Support the development and issuance of the standard work in line with the priorities defined by the Execution Manager (or delegate) / Offshore Crew and the Industrialization team.
  • Collect lessons learnt and best practices impacting the vessel / execution performance to implement in/revise execution stream standard documentation (including reviews with onboard crew), using DURF (Document Update Request Form) to facilitate monitoring of revision/implementation in standard documentation.
  • Support and maintain up-to-date TRA and Duty of Care checklists for Vessel standard works.
  • Facilitate Problem Solving and Standard Work periodical review as interface with OMT/Offshore crew.

Secondary Accountabilities

  • Ad hoc attendance to Projects & Tenders workshop, regular meetings and gate reviews.
  • Ad-hoc support to Vessel Management team for maintenance periods and preparations.

Essential

You are meant for this job if:

  • HNC or above in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent professional engineering experience.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English qualification.

Preferred

  • Degree level qualification in engineering or applied science.

  • Experience within subsea industry either in a project engineering or offshore operational role.
  • Knowledge and technical understanding of offshore operations.
  • Good communication skills.

Nice To Have

  • Experience in one (or more) of the following subsea construction activities: Diving and remote intervention, Product installation (structures, flexibles, umbilicals and rigid pipe), Inspection, repair and maintenance, Lifting, Pre-commissioning.

Additional information

Position shall involve an offshore rotation onboard the nominated vessel. Rotation shall typically be 2 or 3 weeks onboard / 3 or 4 weeks off (Brazil / North Sea). Rotation shall typically be or 6 weeks onboard, 6 weeks off (all other regions). Rotations may require flexibility to suit vessel schedules and project operations. Rotations will include onshore office work as required by project operations.
