This position is within the Finance Department (General Ledger team), reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager. This department is responsible for the delivery of the consolidated group reporting results for a number of UK and overseas entities. The GL team is also responsible for preparing the statutory accounts for all entities accounted for from Aberdeen and for applying the groups Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) internal control standards.
This role is primarily responsible for delivering all accounting aspects associated with 3 Netherlands based entities, TUK Portugal Branch and other UK entities. It also involves coordinating with the Vessel Services Operations team ("VSO"), and Global Business Services (GBS). The Accountant will be responsible for applying accounting principles and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures are followed.
- Full responsibility and accountability for accuracy of information/general ledger and for all transactions relating to the Netherlands entities/Portugal branch and other UK entities as allocated.
- Responsibility for quarterly group reporting in FCC (Group Hyperion Cloud consolidation reporting tool).
- To provide a value-added service to the VSO team, demonstrating the ability to pick up new areas and show initiative.
- To build up a strong working relationship with the other business unit accountants.
- To manage the day-to-day activities of the GBS team, provide support/training and ensure all tasks performed according to task allocation/timetable.
- To challenge and review existing procedures/processes.
- To be an active team player within the GL Team and undertake other GL tasks as and when required.
You are meant for this job if:
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Accounting standards and principles, including month end closing processes.
- Good understanding of Management Accounts and Sub-ledgers.
- Experience in an accounting role.

- Ability to plan, prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
