Job Purpose
The role of the ROV Engineer is to provide operational and technical engineering support within the ROV department. This could be in areas such as project support, tooling, maintenance periods, dry dockings and research and development.
Job Description
- Generally responsible for providing engineering, ROV and remote intervention support within the ROV department
- Preparation of project procedures and technical reports related to remote intervention activity
- Develop quality, cost effective remote intervention solutions and provide intervention support from concept to completion
- Responsible for ensuring that adequate, checked calculations are prepared and in place for ROV equipment prior to mobilisation offshore
- Develop standard lay-outs and calculations for ROV installations
- Source, audit and supply additional 3rd party equipment when required
- Daily support to project and ROV teams both onshore and offshore and assist with planning the efficient and cost effective execution of the offshore workscope
- Attendance at SIT’s, FAT’s, HAZID’s and operational reviews as required
- Supporting Projects on a consultancy basis for remote intervention activities. This includes, reviewing and commenting on procedures and equipment prepared and selected by business unit project teams
- Ensure that the ROV systems are fully operational, ready when needed and within specification for project requirements
- Coordinate and manage ROV mobilisations
- Coordinate and manage (including on/off hires) provision of rental tooling from our internal pool
- Monitor and report system performance
- Ensure effective control of planned and preventative maintenance
- Ensure system inventories are fully maintained
