We are pleased to communicate we have several vacancies for engineers within the Drilling Service line. We are excited to offer these opportunities to join growth in the business and would warmly invite applications. These roles will be based at the Dunfermline campus. The vacancies are within our SDS Global New Product Development team and the SDS Regional Project Execution team.

Job Purpose
To provide technical execution/leadership demonstrating subject matter expertise in products, projects and processes across the engineering lifecycle.

Job Description

  • Ownership and responsibility for multiple products/projects, managing and delegation of tasks, locally and globally e.g. Poland, India.
  • Reporting progress to Project Managers and Engineering Managers.
  • Planning and presentation of design solutions at formal Design Reviews internally and also at customer meetings.
  • Creation, review and approval of technical documentation required for internal and external customers throughout the value stream.
  • Engineering support required for internal and external customers through collaboration across different business functions (Project Management, Planning, Quality, Sourcing & Procurement, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing).
  • Identify and Lead Lean process and product development improvements through Lessons Learned, Root Cause Analysis, other methods of Continuous Improvement used within the SDS Engineering function.

Skills

  • Demonstrated aptitude in Mechanical Engineering and ability to apply engineering skills throughout the product life cycle.
  • Demonstrated proficiency working with Engineering product databases, business ERP systems, MS office applications.
  • Advanced application of problem solving e.g. through cause mapping, 8D problem solving, A3.
  • Utilise personal soft skills to meet the requirements of increasing responsibility and experience level.
  • Able to manage and mitigate risk across the project, including the management of interfaces with other sub-systems.
  • Can coach others in the application of customer specifications, design reviews, quality matrix selection, part creation, QN investigation, ECN implementation and the change review process.
  • Demonstrates leadership in the resolution of technical issues within engineering/across the business.
  • Has a breadth and depth of knowledge across several manufacturing methods used by the business and industry.
  • Has a breadth and depth of knowledge across company, customer and industry standards.
  • Has previous experience demonstrating successful leadership and collaboration across the business.
  • Demonstrates driving change to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of governance processes.
  • Has demonstrated technical leadership across a variety of products & industries outside of wellhead systems.
  • Has specialist knowledge of key processes e.g. welding, NDE, metallurgy, coatings.
  • Can demonstrate technical leadership in implementing new or revised standards.
  • Subsea product design experience, preferably with Wellhead equipment.
  • Application of skills with product improvements, improving safety, quality and cost factors.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach others in advanced problem solving.
