Responsibilities

  • Review Client technical requirements and ensure these are incorporated in Contractor's specifications and design drawings.
  • Review project deliverables including:
  • Electrical procedures
  • Technical specifications
  • Data sheets
  • Drawings
  • Purchase requisitions
  • Coordinate electrical-related issues with other disciplines.
  • Conceptual development of grid connection arrangements.
  • Participate in formal 3D plant model reviews.
  • Provide technical consultancy to the electrical discipline team and projects.
  • Provide inputs into design and/or construction Sub-Contracts.
  • Evaluate bids/proposals and supervise contractors.
  • Act as a mentor to other employees.
  • Travel as required for meetings, equipment testing and site technical support for projects.
  • Qualifications

    • Applicants MUST have the right to work in the United Kingdom and possess extensive UK grid connection experience and in-depth knowledge of extra high voltage power distribution systems.
    • Degree level electrical engineering qualification, ideally with Chartered status.
    • Demonstrable Lead Engineer role experience through conceptual and detailed design, procurement and construction phases with a depth and breadth of experience in design of the electrical infrastructure associated with chemical/polymer/power/industrial plants.
    • Excellent knowledge of European, American and International standards applicable to the chemical industry which must include understanding of hazardous area requirements under DSEAR, ATEX, IEC 60079, API RP 500.
    • Good communication and leadership skills.
