Qualifications and Requirements
- Applicants must have the right to work in the United Kingdom and possess extensive UK grid connection experience and in‑depth knowledge of extra high voltage power distribution systems.
- Degree level electrical engineering qualification, ideally with Chartered status.
- Demonstrable Lead Engineer role experience through conceptual and detailed design, procurement and construction phases with a depth and breadth of experience in design of the electrical infrastructure associated with chemical/polymer/power/industrial plants.
- Excellent knowledge of European, American and international standards applicable to the chemical industry, including hazardous area requirements under DSEAR, ATEX, IEC 60079, API RP 500 & 505 and IP Part 15.
- Capability to apply in‑depth skills and broad knowledge to address complex problems and non‑standard engineering situations.
- Ability to provide motivation, leadership, mentoring and guidance to others.
- Managing time schedules to meet objectives, forecasts and identifying resource requirements.
- Understanding of client needs and identification of solutions.
- Able to review, interpret and work in accordance with client/company standards and procedures.
- Lead and/or participate in project, client, and vendor meetings.
- Capable of explaining difficult concepts and persuading others to adopt a point of view.
- Self‑motivated person keen to learn and work individually or as part of a team, with good communication and leadership skills.
