As part of the early advisory project team, the Manager is responsible for leading and delivering highly strategic outcomes for our clients via our engagements; independently planning, mobilising and delivering our projects within a timely manner. This is a leadership role within the Early Advisory business, with a strong focus on defining, shaping and scaling Genesis Digital & AI Advisory value proposition, while driving the energy transition narrative for our key clients and stakeholders.

The Manager is also responsible for developing our Advisory Business; creating insightful marketing and thought leadership materials, and presenting to our clients and a wider audience (via conferences and subject matter engagements) to originate and secure our projects pipeline. This includes developing and promoting new service offerings related to AI-driven digital transformation, analytics and data-enabled decision support across the asset lifecycle.

Job Scope

  • Lead multidisciplined engagement project teams to deliver strategic objectives such as Net Zero, digital transformation and AI‑enabled operational excellence.
  • Identify and prioritise AI/digital use‑cases across asset lifecycles to support techno‑commercial operations and sustainability goals.
  • Manage analytics workstreams; assess and dissect priority data, translate insights into decision‑ready recommendations, and present findings to internal and external key stakeholders (executive leadership teams and government organisations).
  • Undertake interviews with leading industry experts whilst supporting, coaching and mentoring other team members.
  • Originate research to deliver forward‑thinking perspectives on AI, automation, digital twins, IoT and data‑driven strategy in the energy transition sector.
  • Coach and develop other team members.
  • Build strong, structured client relationships; identify future opportunities and deepen understanding of emerging challenges.
  • Support the Head of Advisory Solutions with business development; shape value propositions around digital, AI and data strategy and monitor competitive positioning.
  • Responsible for proposal preparation and delivery.
  • Deliver projects in compliance with internal and/or client processes; accountable for the quality of the service, assessed by client feedback forms.
  • Manage project performance and preserve project profitability executed as per proposal.
  • Provide leadership to a team of consultants and senior analysts, ensuring strong engagement and motivation of the team, focused on results.

  • Order Intake – win work through delivering tenders and follow‑on work.
  • Project Profitability – accountable for project profitability in line with the proposal.
  • Project Delivery – ensure successful project execution and delivery along with client satisfaction of assigned projects.
  • Business Development & Client Engagement – build client relations and support business development campaigns (focusing on digital and AI‑focused opportunities) to grow and diversify our market footprint and client base.
  • Innovation & Digital Value Creation – collaborate globally to grow digital/AI service offerings and support adoption of new solutions both externally and internally.
  • Collaborate – collaborate globally to explore new services and ways to optimise project execution and profitability, with focus on digitalisation.
  • Competency development – ensure we have the capabilities in digital, analytics and AI advisory to support project execution and EAS growth.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in the energy industry, either as a consultant or engineer.
  • Degree in Engineering, Business, Technology, or any related field.
  • Experience in management consulting and/or early‑stage techno‑economic studies.
  • Experience delivering digital or analytics‑driven strategic projects, ideally including AI, automation and digital transformation.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity, drive and flexibility.
  • It is essential that applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Advantageous Experience

  • Exposure to digital technologies and tools (AI/ML, cloud platforms, IoT, digital twins, advanced analytics).
  • Experience in business case development for technology investment or digital transformation programs.
  • Change management or operating model design relating to digital adoption.
  • Significant experience in engineering and/or early‑stage project cost estimating and economic analysis.
  • Oil and gas (upstream), LNG or refinery operations.
  • Strategy consulting or investment banking.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA), or equivalent.
