Technip Energies is seeking a highly skilled Building Engineer to join our Field Engineering team for the Net Zero Teesside Power project. The successful candidate will play a key role in supervising subcontractors, ensuring the quality, safety, and timely execution of building and structural works in a complex, zero-emissions power facility. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a pioneering project in sustainable energy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision & Oversight: Lead and supervise subcontractor activities related to building and structural works on-site. Ensure subcontractors adhere to project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. Coordinate daily activities, monitor progress, and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Quality & Safety Assurance: Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with design, safety, and environmental standards. Enforce safety protocols and promote a safety-first culture among subcontractors and site personnel. Review and approve method statements, work procedures, and inspection and test plans.
  • Technical Support & Coordination: Liaise with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless project delivery. Assist in resolving technical queries related to building works, structural interfaces, and design deviations. Support commissioning activities related to building and structural systems.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of site activities, inspections, and non-conformances. Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and as-built records as required.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with project management, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. Support integration of safety, quality, and environmental objectives across all activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in supervising subcontractors on large-scale infrastructure or power plant projects, preferably in zero-carbon or renewable energy sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction, structural works, and relevant codes and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage safety and quality in a construction environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and reporting systems.
