Technip Energies is seeking an experienced Lifting and Rigging Superintendent to oversee and coordinate all lifting and rigging activities for the Net Zero Teesside Power project. The successful candidate will ensure that all lifting operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulations. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to risk management within a complex, multi-disciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Supervision: Lead, supervise, and coordinate all lifting and rigging activities on-site, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project procedures.
  • Planning & Coordination: Develop and review lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments in collaboration with engineering and construction teams.
  • Safety Management: Promote a strong safety culture by enforcing safety standards, conducting toolbox talks, and ensuring all personnel are trained and competent.
  • Execution Oversight: Monitor daily lifting operations, providing technical guidance and support to lifting crews, crane operators, and rigging teams.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all lifting activities comply with relevant standards (e.g., LOLER, BS7121, API) and maintain accurate records of inspections, certifications, and incident reports.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with project management, engineering, safety, and client representatives to coordinate activities and resolve issues.
  • Inspection & Maintenance: Oversee inspection, testing, and maintenance of lifting equipment, ensuring certifications are up-to-date.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential hazards, implement mitigation measures, and respond effectively to incidents or near-misses.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and review of lifting procedures, incorporating lessons learned and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Lifting and Rigging Superintendent in large-scale oil & gas, petrochemical, or power projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of lifting operations, rigging techniques, and relevant standards and regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CSCS, LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association), and safety qualifications.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and adapt to project changes.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with offshore and onshore lifting operations.
  • Familiarity with Net Zero or renewable energy projects.
  • Knowledge of environmentally sustainable practices in lifting and construction.
