Whilst predominantly focused on delivering ETS management scopes, you will also have opportunities to grow your expertise in a variety of projects in the UK and overseas with a particular focus on energy efficiency, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and decarbonisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will work within the Environment and Sustainability Team, interfacing with the wider Genesis organisation through interactions with other discipline teams and providing environmental technical inputs on a variety of projects for public and private clients in the UK and overseas.
- Provision of environmental engineering expertise with particular emphasis on emissions to air, energy management and decarbonisation.
- Taking a leading role managing the UK ETS projects and studies.
- Leading annual ETS compliance support including ongoing notifications and variations, verification support, heat sub-installation calculations etc.
- Working as part of a team to identify and assess opportunities for decarbonisation including flare management, methane reduction and renewable energy options, as required.
- Interaction with clients to ensure delivery of requirements to agreed scope, schedule and budget.
- Review of engineering design documentation and drawings in support of environmental studies, as required.
- Ability to plan and lead energy / emissions management workshops.
Required Skills:
- University degree qualified in relevant engineering or science field.
- Hold strong and relevant experience.
- Knowledge of industrial emissions legislation and the UK/EU Emissions Trading Scheme, with proven track record of supporting and/or leading compliance activities.
- Strong time-management skills and therefore good planning and organisational abilities.
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Excellent written skills, with good attention to detail.
- Mentoring of less experienced team members.
- Ability to think innovatively.
- Commercial awareness.
Preferred Attributes:
- Knowledge of oil and gas operations would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of environmental engineering techniques and solutions (pollution control and mitigation) preferred.
- Working knowledge of key atmospheric management requirements such as Emission Reduction Action Plans and OGMP2.0.
- ESOS experience, with Lead Assessor accreditation beneficial but not essential.
