Job Description
About the mission we offer you:
Technip Energies and their partners were awarded an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for the worlds first commercial scale gas-fired power station with carbon capture. The construction site is located in the Tees Valley in the North-East of England.

The successful candidate will be site-based once the site office is established but until then will work on a hybrid basis, attending the Milton Keynes, London, and Paris offices as required.
The Cost Control Engineer has the overall responsibility for:
• To stay informed of the costs and trends of the construction versus the budget and informs the Site Manager / Cost Manager of any important trend or deviation of costs from budgets.
• To ensure that relevant corrective actions are identified and implemented as per Site Manager Instructions.
'• Maintains the budget on a current basis by updating it for authorized changes,

• Prepares Client change orders for the field work.

• Controls and forecasts the evolution of construction costs and quantities as compared to budget and schedule and determines corrective measures as necessary.
• Controls field orders and extra-work orders for Subcontractors in cooperation with Cost Control Manager.
• Maintains records of installed quantities and compares these with estimated quantities.
• Reports, analyses and forecasts construction and local procurement costs.
• Codes jobsite labour and material expenditures into the account code structure established for the jobsite.
• Maintains records of expenditures against the budget and forecasts final costs for each code of account.
• Develops productivity and unit cost information with the budget.
• Prepares cost studies for special work activities to assist construction supervision in making decisions that may affect cost.
• Prepares supplier back-charges dossier.
• Manages claims dossier for losses and damages.
• Prepares internal cost reports (Site Cost Control Report).
• Prepares Project Monthly Report in the final phase of the project if responsible of the overall cost control activities.
• Defines the numbering system for local commitments and work orders. Issues relevant management procedures for implementation.
• Provides the Project Control Manager or Site Manager with control reports at specified intervals.
• Develops periodic reports to assist construction supervision and management in performing the functions of cost control (data collection, analysis, reporting system, proposed corrective action and follow-up of these actions). Collects both the expenditures and the actual progress information. The reports must be sufficiently detailed so that variance and trends can be detected, and corrective actions can be taken by key engineering and construction personnel.
• Liaises with the Administration Manager for all issues related to personnel costs (mob, living, accommodation, local transport, local employees).

• Liaises with Accountant for all cost movements (numbering, codifications, and approval) and consolidation reviews.
