JOB DESCRIPTION

Technip Energies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced QC Piping and Welding Coordinator to oversee quality control activities related to piping and welding disciplines on the Net Zero Teesside Power project. The successful candidate will ensure that all piping and welding works comply with project specifications, international standards, and safety regulations, supporting the delivery of a sustainable, efficient, and high-quality power facility aligned with net-zero objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QC procedures and inspection plans for piping and welding activities.
  • Coordinate and supervise welding inspections, nondestructive testing (NDT), and related quality assurance activities.
  • Review and verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and material certifications.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards such as ASME, API, ISO, and project-specific requirements.
  • Liaise with construction, engineering, and procurement teams to resolve quality issues promptly.
  • Conduct and document quality audits and inspections on-site and in workshops.
  • Monitor welding and piping fabrication activities to ensure adherence to approved procedures and specifications.
  • Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to welding and piping teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality documentation.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognised qualifications, Metallurgy, or related field.
  • Proven experience in quality control for piping and welding in large-scale energy or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME Section IX, AWS, ISO 15614).
  • Experience with NDT methods and interpretation.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and inspection software.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Additional Skills

  • Certification in welding inspection (e.g., CSWIP, AWS CWI) is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Net Zero and sustainable energy project requirements is a plus.
  • Proactive approach to safety and quality assurance.
