Genesis Process team is a dynamic group working across a range of assignments from traditional upstream oil and gas developments to emerging energy transition technologies. Our work encompasses feasibility assessments and concept selection for new developments through to technical support of mature assets. At Genesis we work in close collaboration with our clients, develop an understanding of their problems before identifying the possible solutions and supporting their decision-making process.
You will have the opportunity to lead scopes of work such as:
- Process design for oil and gas and energy transition projects
- Process system modelling and optimisations
- Operations support troubleshooting
- Facility capacity rating, debottlenecking and benchmarking
- Client team support
- Life extension and asset rationalisation
The successful candidate will support a wide range of clients on varied and interesting projects related to the energy industry. You will also interface with the wider Genesis organisation through interactions with other discipline teams and a range of clients in the UK and overseas. In support of our organisational structure, you will report to a Process/Development Engineering Delivery Manager and will be responsible for a small team of Process Engineers as direct line reports.

As a Consultant Field Development Engineer, you will:
- Prepare engineering deliverables independently
- Take responsibility for quality and consistency of technical and general project deliverables
- Lead areas of study scope and mid-large sized studies
- Provide discipline engineering guidance and direction to junior team members
- Prepare reports with little guidance
- Lead client meetings relevant to assigned work scope
- Lead proposals with sponsor guidance
- Support business development activities in collaboration with the Delivery Manager
- Maintain client relationships to promote continuity
We would love to hear from you if you can demonstrate:
- Chartered Engineer (or equivalent), with significant experience in upstream oil and gas and energy sectors
- Knowledge of field development activities and experience in feasibility, conceptual design and FEED projects
- Experience in client/operator decision gate processes
- High competency with specialist process engineering software
- Good understanding of related discipline activities (technical safety, environmental, mechanical, piping and layouts, electrical and C& I)
- Good report writing and presentation skills
- Able to work independently and within integrated local and virtual teams
- Experience of pastoral care leading and developing Process Engineers
- Self-motivation, proactiveness and ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
- A desire to develop new skills and experiences
It would be beneficial if you also had:
- Experience in FPSO and floating structures
- Exposure to energy transition technologies
- Technical expertise on relevant engineering subject
