Senior Analog IC Design Engineer β Semiconductor β Edinburgh, Scotland (Hybrid)
An established semiconductor company is seeking a Senior Analog IC Design Engineer to join its growing IC design team.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation low-power analog and mixed-signal semiconductor solutions, taking designs from concept through to silicon within a collaborative and technically driven environment.
What you'll do as a Senior Analog IC Design Engineer
- Design and develop high-performance analog and mixed-signal ICs from specification and architecture through transistor-level implementation, verification and production.
- Design and optimise low-power CMOS analog circuits for advanced semiconductor applications.
- Perform system-level modelling and analysis using tools such as MATLAB, Simulink and Spectre.
- Carry out transistor-level circuit design, simulation and optimisation to achieve demanding performance, power and area targets.
- Work closely with layout engineers to support floorplanning, layout implementation and post-layout verification.
- Perform post-layout simulations and drive design improvements to ensure robust silicon performance.
- Support silicon bring-up, laboratory validation, characterisation and debugging activities.
What you'll bring as a Senior Analog IC Design Engineer
- Degree (BSc, MEng, MSc or Ph D) in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in analog CMOS IC design within the semiconductor industry.
- Strong understanding of analog IC design methodologies, including architecture definition, transistor-level circuit design and chip integration.
- Experience designing low-power, high-performance analog circuits in advanced CMOS technologies.
- Knowledge of power management circuit design, including inductive and/or capacitive power converters.
- Understanding of control theory and its application to analog circuit design.
- Experience using industry-standard simulation and modelling tools such as Cadence Spectre, MATLAB, Simulink or LTspice.
- Hands-on laboratory experience supporting silicon validation, characterisation and debug.
