Our client is a well-established business operating across complex, customer-facing environments where uptime, security, and service reliability are non-negotiable. They're looking for an experienced IT Operations Manager to take senior ownership of their Operational Technology function.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining strategic oversight with deep technical credibility. You'll be the go-to authority for infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and operational support across both internal platforms and high-profile customer deployments.

What you'll be doing:

  • Setting the strategic direction for Operational Technology, aligned to business and customer priorities
  • Leading, developing, and growing a team responsible for infrastructure, support, and deployed operational services
  • Owning the performance and resilience of servers, networking, virtualisation, Microsoft 365, Azure, and endpoint management
  • Leading the response to major incidents and service-impacting issues
  • Defining and delivering cloud strategy (Azure/AWS), including on-prem to cloud migrations
  • Owning the IT security posture: vulnerability management, incident response, ISO 27001 compliance, identity and access management
  • Overseeing service delivery and stakeholder assurance for critical, live customer environments
  • Managing third-party vendors and supplier performance
  • Defining disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies, including regular resilience testing
  • Managing budgets and forecasting for the OT function

What we're looking for:

  • Significant experience in an Operational Technology, IT leadership, or senior technical management role
  • A track record leading technical teams in operationally critical, customer-facing, or high-availability environments
  • Strong technical grounding across infrastructure, networking, virtualisation, cloud platforms, and endpoint management
  • Solid cybersecurity knowledge, ideally with ISO 27001 experience
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and endpoint management
  • Strong stakeholder management and the credibility to influence at a senior level

This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically credible IT leader to take real ownership of a business-critical function, with genuine influence over strategy, investment, and direction. Apply now or get in touch for a confidential conversation.

How to prepare for a job interview at Technify Talent

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
