The business is seeking an experienced FPGA Design and Development Engineer to contribute across the full development lifecycle, from digital architecture and HDL design through to implementation, verification and hardware validation. This is an excellent opportunity to tackle complex engineering challenges while collaborating with specialists across electronics, embedded software and systems engineering.
What you'll do as an FPGA Design and Development Engineer:
- Design and implement FPGA-based solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Develop, simulate and verify digital designs using industry-standard FPGA toolchains, ideally AMD (Xilinx) Vivado.
- Apply digital signal processing techniques to optimise performance, timing and hardware resource utilisation.
- Collaborate with electronics, embedded software, firmware and systems engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
- Contribute to system architecture, technical reviews, project planning and customer-facing technical discussions.
- Support hardware debugging, testing and validation throughout the development lifecycle.
What you'll bring as an FPGA Design and Development Engineer:
- Proven experience in FPGA design, HDL development and digital hardware implementation.
- Strong knowledge of VHDL and/or Verilog, simulation and verification methodologies.
- A solid grounding in digital signal processing and digital design principles.
- Experience with AMD/Xilinx platforms, particularly Zynq SoCs, would be advantageous.
- Exposure to radar, communications, RF, sensing or other complex digital systems would be beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving skills, technical ownership and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- A relevant engineering degree or equivalent practical experience.
