A well-established and growing precision engineering manufacturer is seeking an experienced Production Coordinator / Production Planner to join its leadership team. Operating within a modern CNC machining environment, this business supplies high-quality precision engineered components to demanding industries and is continuing to invest in both its people and manufacturing capabilities.
This is a senior-level position that will suit an organised and proactive manufacturing professional who enjoys coordinating production activities, managing priorities, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across a busy shopfloor environment. You will play a key role in supporting Production Management by removing administrative burden from technical teams, coordinating people and resources, and ensuring production activities align with Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (QSDC) objectives.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating day-to-day production activities across the shopfloor to ensure efficient workflow and on-time delivery.
- Supporting Production Management with workforce planning, attendance management, overtime coordination and resource allocation.
- Monitoring and tracking Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (QSDC) performance.
- Coordinating training requirements and maintaining training records and competency matrices.
- Supporting maintenance planning, equipment breakdown escalation and TPM activities.
- Managing production priorities and removing barriers that may impact operational performance.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and Lean Manufacturing activities.
- Tracking and coordinating corrective actions, improvement projects and production-related issues.
- Ensuring availability of tooling, consumables and other production resources.
- Maintaining high standards of workplace organisation, 5S and Health & Safety compliance.
- Liaising with multiple departments to ensure effective communication and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Previous experience within a CNC machining or precision engineering manufacturing environment is essential.
- Experience within a Production Coordinator, Production Planner, Production Supervisor, Team Leader or similar manufacturing role.
- Strong organisational, planning and administrative skills.
- Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office packages.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and priorities.
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach.
