Job Description
Role: Technical Estimator/ Officer
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum Benefits (23 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension scheme, life assurance, bonus, share scheme)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am till 4:30pm. This is an office-based, not a hybrid role.
Location: Commutable from Mansfield, Nuthall, Matlock, Little Eaton, Derby and Nottingham and surrounding areas

The opportunity
This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic sales and customer service team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about technical excellence and continuous development.
Due to the current Technical Officer moving overseas, we are seeking a technically proficient individual to join our team in a Technical Estimator or Technical Officer capacity. The ideal candidate will possess experience from working in a fabrication or light metalwork assembly company. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, customer interaction, and design capabilities. You must have an inquisitive mindset, with strengths in mathematics and physics as the role would require you to carry out estimations as well as using CAD to create engineering drawings.
Key responsibilities
- Customer-facing experience with the ability to confidently explain technical aspects to clients, including architects, property developers
- CAD experience an advantage as this role would require you to create your own drawings, although full training will be given
- Advanced Excel, experience of putting together estimations, creating sheets, quotes and formulas.
- Good customer interaction as you would be working closely with the customer from an architect to a builder, so would need to be able to adapt your communication style
- SAP knowledge would be advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
- Basic understanding of structural elements is advantageous.
- Ability to read and technically appraise drawings.
- Hands on support to answer any questions from the production team in the factory.
