Hours: Monday to Friday, rotating shifts of days and afternoons

Location: Commutable from Kendal, Shap, Penrith, Helbeck, Garsdale, Settle, Bentham, Lancaster, Morecambe, Bowness-on-Windermere, Grasmere and surrounding areas

We are currently recruiting a Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Fitter or Electrical) to work within a large company at one of their successful production factories near Kendal. You will benefit from joining this very friendly and loyal team of Maintenance Engineers who work closely together to support a fast-paced environment.

Working within this knowledgeable team, the Maintenance Engineer will have good opportunities for further training & development, and with other sites in the region & across the country, the sky really is the limit to progressing your career, from up-skilling, gaining further training on the job and in the training room, as well as through additional qualifications assuming personal growth is of interest to you. The company also encourages taking part in internal and external training opportunities, to help people grow in their role & profession - from electrical, mechanical & electronics, to team leading and management training too.

It is a multi-skilled environment with both Electrical or Mechanical bias perfectly acceptable and for those that want it, help & training can be provided to improve their weaker discipline.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Engineers get the opportunity to cover both electro-mechanical maintenance work across the factory and you are encouraged and supported to develop your weaker side, whether this be mechanical or electrical.
  • Your main and primary role is supporting all production machinery. This includes combating and resolving breakdowns and machinery problems.
  • Also working through planned preventative maintenance and undertaking project work too such as new installations.

Requirements:

  • Maintenance or Service Engineer background in any environment, ideally industrial, manufacturing, production or automated.
  • Have good maintenance and troubleshooting skills across some of the following; motors, belts, bearings, chains, gears, pumps, boilers, sensors, inverters, relays, contactors, 3 phase, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, steam systems.
  • Good troubleshooting & fault-finding skills.
  • Friendly and adaptable with the ability to work well as part of a close-knit team.
  • Proactive, self-starter work attitude and can be flexible and able to give & take on start & finish times when necessary.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with the Site Health and Safety instructions and the Health and Safety manual & relevant engineering standards.
