The Company
We are currently recruiting for an Electrically Biased Maintenance Team Leader / Lead Maintenance Engineer to work within a fast-paced production environment, where you will be leading a small team of Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers.
The Maintenance Team Lead will support the Engineering Manager by ensuring all maintenance and repairs are completed quickly and efficiently, to a good standard of quality. You will also provide support in relation to all maintenance tasks and projects being undertaken, including breakdowns, PPM, equipment updates, new installations and building maintenance or infrastructure upgrades.
The Role
* To lead the Maintenance team proactively, ensuring that the company’s vision, values and policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
* The hiring manager is equally open to considering experienced Electrically Biased Team Leaders / Senior Engineers or current Maintenance Engineers who are ready to step up into a supervisory role where along with your hands-on maintenance duties, you will also lead a small team from the front.
* To support the engineering team with hands on experience across both Electrical & Mechanical issues, mentoring the team to ensure PPMs, Safe Systems of Work (SSOWs) and working procedures are followed.
* Assist the Engineering Manager & the maintenance team to ensure compliance with regulations for fire and alarm systems, PAT, pressure valves etc., analysing the results and ensuring corrective action is implemented to continuously improve the working environment.
* Ensuring risk assessments / COSSH / RIDDOR, etc. are implemented and undertaken and accident prevention measures are initiated as required.
* Assist the Engineering Manager with the planning, organising and coordination of resources to meet production requirements of ongoing maintenance and unplanned issues.
* Assist in the planning and directing of operation, maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment as per production requirements.
* Work with approved suppliers to obtain new parts and machinery.
* Working with the Engineering Manager to deliver training to engineers and operators on new machinery, using the machinery documentation and SSOWs.
Preferred Skills & Experience
* Suitable candidates will be either an Electrical Biased Maintenance Team Leader / Senior Engineer OR a Maintenance Engineer who is ready to step up into a supervisor role.
* Experienced with both electrical & mechanical diagnostics and troubleshooting within Production or Manufacturing environments. Additional experience with Electronics is useful.
* Good communications skills, both written & verbal.
* The ability to analyse data and provide your findings effectively, influencing others at all levels.
* Good attention to detail including a strong Health & Safety focus.
* Able to inspire & motivate a team using coaching & mentoring to build strong team connections and shared experiences.
* Ability to work autonomously and drive necessary change.
* Electrical qualifications to degree level or equivalent.
* NEBOSH qualifications or experience of Lean manufacturing are useful but not essential.
