Role: Welder Fabricator (Permanent)
Salary: £34,000 to £37,000 per annum, plus overtime (paid at x1.5 & x2.0) and benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 4.00pm (start & finish times negotiable)
Location: Commutable from Birmingham, Lichfield, Tamworth, Derby, Coventry, Nuneaton, Burton upon Trent, Cannock and surrounding areas
Company: We are currently recruiting for a Welder Fabricator to work within a large manufacturing company at one of their leading automated factories. You will benefit from a friendly and loyal team of Engineers working in this fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Working on various fabrication / repair projects throughout the factory.
- Welding, MIG.
- Working from engineering drawings and assembly instructions.
- Installation of parts, equipment, structures etc. which have been manufactured for specific sites.
- Assess equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods.
- Assist with maintenance and mechanical fitting and repair works when required.
- Welding of ferrous and non-ferrous materials as required.
- Sourcing required material from stock area, marking and cutting of material.
- Cut materials using different methods - flame cutting, plasma cutter, horizontal and vertical band saws, powered guillotine and hacksaws.
- Form materials into various shapes by use of rollers and powered brake press.
- Drilling holes in various materials using pillar drills, pistol drills.
- Ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned etc.
- Follows safety protocol, including wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and appropriate extraction.
Requirements:
- Qualified in Welding / Fabrication.
- Experienced in Fabrication and Welding, MIG.
- Experience in small / large fabrications.
- Experience of some welding - arc and mig preferred.
- Physically fit and keen to get stuck in and get your hands dirty.
