Techniche Global is supporting an engineering defense company in appointing a Vehicle Technician Trainer for their Training and Apprenticeship services, for a one-year fixed-term contract. This is a full-time (37 hours per week), on-site role at one of their locations across the South West. Locations may include, but are not limited to: Tidworth, Lyneham, Warminster, Colerne, Larkhill, and Bulford. As a Vehicle Technician Traineer, you will deliver technical training to Military Apprentice students in line with the curriculum. This includes delivering training on vehicle maintenance, completing and marking course work and assessments, ensuring all documents are accurately recorded, and maintaining a safe working environment. Responsibilities of the Vehicle Technician Trainer: Prepare and deliver instruction on course modules in the Initial Trade Training Department in support of the DCTT, including lesson plans, training aids, workbooks and trainee handouts Setting and marking of course and homework Carry out assessment of trainees, to include creation of written examinations, creation of practical assessments Marking of exam papers, and invigilation of examinations and assessments Maintain a Continuous Personal Development (CPD) portfolio in respect of new technologies and equipment, ensuring lesson plans and training sessions are developed in accordance with the approved Learner Specifications, course specifications and course training plans Review course material and content ensuring it is current and evolves to support equipment and technology advances, using the most appropriate training aids Required experience of the Vehicle Technician Trainer: Level 3 qualified vehicle mechanics / technician qualifications Vehicle Technician background Knowledge and experience of working with Microsoft Office applications Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to motivate and encourage others with empathy and patience Knowledge of a military environment and equipment (desirable) Knowledge of the REME trade structure and operational requirements (desirable) Knowledge of JAMES (Joint Asset Management and Equipment Solutions) (desirable) Qualifications for the Vehicle Technician Trainer: Current HGV MOT Inspector and/or knowledge / experience of armoured and B-vehicle MEI process Teaching qualification not essential; full training and funding will be provided to gain Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training during probation period of the role Due to the nature of the business, a successful candidate will need to obtain security clearance check.
