An opportunity is available for an Applications Engineer to support the preparation of tenders, bids and technical proposals for electrical substation projects. The role focuses on developing technical solutions for HV substation systems and preparing high-quality documentation to support competitive bid submissions. You will work closely with both engineering and commercial teams during the tendering process, helping define technical scope, equipment specifications and overall system solutions.
Responsibilities
- Preparing tenders, bids and technical proposals for HV substation projects
- Developing technical solutions and defining equipment specifications
- Producing technical documentation to support bid submissions
- Working collaboratively with commercial and engineering teams during tender stages
- Supporting the development of competitive and technically robust proposals
Qualifications
- Strong experience within the power transmission or distribution sector
- Solid knowledge of HV AC substation design and primary plant
- Understanding of protection systems, control/SCADA, telecoms and metering
- Experience in engineering, applications or tendering roles within power transmission or similar sectors
- Ability to work within multidisciplinary bid and engineering teams
Working pattern and package
- 12-month contract
- £70-£75 per hour (Umbrella)
- Inside IR35
- 37.5 hours per week
- Office-based Tuesday-Thursday (08:00-16:30)
- Friday office hours 08:00-13:00
- Some home working available on Monday and Friday
