Senior Controls Engineer Leicester (Office-based with site and remote flexibility) £50,000-£60,000 + car allowance & benefits Permanent | Full project lifecycle role We\'re working with a specialist in smoke ventilation systems, supporting them in appointing a Senior Controls Engineer to join their growing team in Leicester. With over two decades of industry experience, this company delivers full life-cycle projects across the UK and Europe - from design and manufacture through to installation and commissioning. About the Role You\'ll take ownership across the full project lifecycle - from control system design to on-site commissioning and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing). This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in both technical development and field-based delivery. Responsibilities include: Designing and programming PLC and HMI software for safety-critical ventilation systems Supporting control panel design and technical documentation Leading commissioning activities across UK project sites Ensuring compliance with all relevant UK fire safety and control system standards What We\'re Looking For Proven experience in PLC programming and commissioning (any platform: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider, Omron, etc.) Experience with HMIs, variable speed drives, control schematics, and industrial communications (e.g. Modbus, TCP/IP) Familiarity with building services, life safety systems, or other safety-critical environments A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as needed for commissioning activities The Offer £50,000-£60,000 per annum (depending on experience) Car allowance + company pension and benefits A balanced working pattern across office, remote, and project site locations Opportunity to work on complex, safety-led engineering projects across the UK and Europe If you\'re an experienced controls engineer looking for a role with technical depth, hands-on delivery, and long-term development - we\'d love to hear from you
