Techniche Global is supporting a leading provider of critical power and electrical protection systems based in Newport Pagnell in appointing a Mechanical Design Engineer.
Due to continued growth and recent contract wins, our client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their established engineering team, designing bespoke heavy-duty electrical enclosures for applications across defence, marine, power and other highly regulated industries.
What we're looking for:
- Experience in mechanical design of bespoke engineered products
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks
- Experience creating 3D models and manufacturing drawings
- Knowledge of sheet metal, folded and welded structures is advantageous
- HNC/HND or equivalent mechanical engineering qualification
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Key responsibilities:
- Design bespoke heavy-duty electrical enclosures and associated mechanical systems
- Work across the full product lifecycle from concept through to manufacture
- Modify and update existing designs to meet customer and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with customers and internal teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Support engineering reviews, design improvements and technical problem solving
Due to the nature of current projects, applicants must be UK nationals or dual nationals and eligible for BPSS clearance.
