A growing engineering and catering equipment business is looking to appoint an Electrical Build & Technical Support Technician to support machine build, repair, and customer support activities from their Sutton-in-Ashfield site.

This is a hands-on role combining practical electrical assembly and repair work with customer troubleshooting and technical support. Approximately 75-80% of the role is focused on building and repairing machines, with the remaining time spent supporting customers remotely via phone and email to diagnose faults using photos and videos where required. The equipment is modular rather than highly complex electronics-based, so the emphasis is on practical fault finding, component replacement, and logical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Electrical assembly and machine build work
  • Repair and fault finding on catering equipment
  • Wiring, soldering, crimping, and component replacement
  • Supporting customers remotely with troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Coordinating another Technician in a team lead capacity
  • Taking ownership of technical issues through to resolution

Candidates should have:

  • Good electrical assembly experience
  • Practical fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
  • Experience with wiring, soldering, crimping, or electrical components
  • Strong communication and customer support skills
  • A hands-on and proactive approach

Previous supervisory or team lead experience would be beneficial, but is not essential.

This is a permanent, site-based role in Sutton-in-Ashfield, moving to NG17 2JN around August/September. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm.

Package includes:

  • £14.50 per hour
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x
