Techniche Global is supporting a world-class engineering company in appointing a Civil Pipeline Engineer to join their Design & Advanced Technology team on a long-term contract basis. Location: Hybrid (Typically 3 days per week office/site-based) Preferred Base: Epsom, London, Peterborough, or Cambridge (Flexibility available for the right candidate) Key Responsibilities of the Civil Pipeline Engineer: As a key member of the team, you will apply your knowledge, technical experience, and problem-solving skills to deliver transformational water infrastructure programmes throughout the project lifecycle. Your key responsibilities will include: Coordinate or manage a team of Civil Pipeline engineers to deliver technical design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects in line with national and project-specific codes. Produce and review high-quality technical deliverables, including design reports, drawings, calculations, and defined scopes of work. Provide technical input into project design deliverables and collaborate with project management teams to successfully meet milestones, timelines, and budgets. Work closely with immediate team members, clients, operational staff, and multi-disciplinary teams across the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions. Provide technical mentorship to less experienced colleagues and help grow the Civil Pipeline Engineering capabilities within the local team. Work independently with minimal technical guidance, exercising personal judgment to solve complex design problems and provide technical support for bid proposals. Strictly adhere to quality assurance standards, including checking and reviewing your own work as well as the work of others. Requirements: The ideal candidate will be an energetic and experienced engineer with a strong background in the water sector and a proven track record within a consultancy environment. A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. Chartered or Incorporated Civil Engineer status. Proven experience coordinating or managing a Civil Pipeline engineering design delivery team within a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment. Strong knowledge and practical experience in pipeline design, including construction, rehabilitation, condition assessment, commissioning, operation, and maintenance. Practical knowledge of current UK and international design codes, industry best practices, and CDM Regulations. Proficiency in designing within appropriate digital analysis packages following local and national guidance (e.g., HADES and Varism). Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly, an innovative mindset for solving design problems, and a highly motivated, collaborative approach.
