Techniche Global is supporting a leading manufacturing and engineering company based in Birmingham in appointing a Maintenance & Design Engineer.

Birmingham | Up to £50,000 + Benefits | Permanent | Days | Hybrid

This is a varied, hands-on role combining maintenance engineering, fault finding, CAD design, prototyping, and engineering project work. You'll join a small engineering team supporting production equipment, tooling, customer products, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in electromechanical maintenance, manufacturing, workshop, field service, or prototype engineering
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Hands-on experience with workshop machinery, tooling, CNC equipment, and maintenance activities
  • CAD design experience, ideally using 3D modelling software
  • Practical problem-solving ability and a willingness to get involved across a wide range of engineering challenges
  • 18th Edition qualification desirable

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair production machinery, tooling, and equipment
  • Carry out fault finding, breakdown response, and preventative maintenance
  • Produce CAD models, technical drawings, and engineering documentation
  • Support prototype development, product improvements, and R&D projects
  • Assist with site maintenance and engineering improvement initiatives
  • Occasionally provide engineering support at customer sites
