Role Summary

An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated graduate or postgraduate to lead a strategic Knowledge Transfer Partnership between Brunel University London and Rollagranola. The project focuses on reducing energy consumption, improving product quality, and developing innovative, sustainable, and cost‑efficient baking processes within a rapidly growing food business.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a strategic, high‑value project from concept through to implementation.
  • Translating academic expertise into commercially viable solutions.
  • Driving innovation in baking processes and energy efficiency.
  • Engaging with stakeholders across both organisations, including production teams and senior management.
  • Reporting progress, presenting findings, and supporting strategic decision‑making.

The role offers valuable commercial exposure through engagement with clients and suppliers, and participation in international industry events and conferences.

Candidate Profile

A First‑Class or 2:1 Honours degree, MSc, or PhD in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Strong technical knowledge in Food science, Food processing, Engineering, Technology.
  • Experience in experimental design and data analysis.
  • Ability to develop optimisation models (e.g., using ANSYS, COMSOL, or similar tools).
  • Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Desirable

  • Industrial experience in food manufacturing and operations.
  • Knowledge of cereal processing and sustainability.
