Overview

Location: 12 Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3TA. Postdoctoral Research Associate in Porphyrin Nanobelt Chemistry to work under the supervision of Professor Harry L. Anderson for a period of up to 36 months. The project involves organic synthesis and is funded by the European Research Council. The research group is based in the Department of Chemistry, Chemistry Research Laboratory. Availability: 1 January 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct multi-step organic synthesis, including the synthesis of extended π-systems.
  • Apply physical organic chemistry or spectroscopy methods as part of the project.
  • Manage your own academic research and administrative activities, including small-scale project management and coordinating multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Chemistry (or near completion with thesis submitted before taking up the appointment).
  • Experience in multi-step organic synthesis, including synthesis of extended π-systems.
  • Experience in physical organic chemistry or spectroscopy.
