The School of Health Sciences is part of a highly successful and vibrant faculty, frequently commended for our partnership working across the health and social care sector. Supported by our simulation strategy and resources, the school delivers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses leading to registration in allied healthcare, nursing and midwifery professions. The University has invested over £8 million in the development of a state-of-the-art simulation centre, which further enhances our record of teaching, research and knowledge exchange innovation. We also have a wide portfolio of post-qualifying provision including a MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.
The post holder/s will work with our midwifery team and employers to deliver our UG Midwifery programme (including an apprenticeship offer). The programme has been designed collaboratively with key stakeholders; the post holder will work closely with our stakeholders on a continuing basis. This post will be offered on a fixed term basis until 31st July 2027.
We are seeking to recruit experienced registered midwives who have ambition to develop as a midwifery educator and academic, having developed teaching and assessing skills through a mentorship/practice assessor role or equivalent. You will play a key role in facilitating teaching and learning across our midwifery provision. We are happy to consider part-time working and/or secondments. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to complete a teaching qualification (PGCHE) and progress through our GOLD framework to achieve HEA senior fellowship, as well as contribute to faculty-wide research and knowledge exchange activities. Opportunity also exists to undertake doctoral studies through a professional doctorate or PhD programme.
