Lecturer (Independent Prescribing)

Lecturer (Independent Prescribing)

Full-Time No working from home possible
Technical University of Denmark

About the role

Are you a confident, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking educator? We are looking for a Lecturer to support the delivery of our independent and supplementary prescribing programme and Advanced Care Practitioner (ACP) Programme at the University of Plymouth.

The ISP programme at the University of Plymouth adds to the extensive profile of advanced practice provision that includes the MSc Advanced Professional Practice (Clinical Practitioner) and ACP Programmes. The prescribing programme sits as a core or optional module throughout these programmes, as well as a standalone CPD programme.

This is an exciting opportunity to assist the delivery of advanced practice learning, contributing to the academic and clinical development of our students, in a small programme team within an innovative school. You will also have opportunity to contribute to research within the school through one of many research active groups, aligned to clinical schools within local NHS Trusts.

For this role, you will need to be on site 2 days a week. Although we can accommodate working from home for this role, flexibility to be on‑site will be expected due to business needs.

Standard Disclosure and Barring Service Check will be required.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience supporting students with teaching.
  • Experience in learning and assessment.
  • A teaching qualification, although, if you do not have a teaching qualification, you must be willing to work towards achieving this, with our support.
  • You must be a registered healthcare professional (General Medical Council, Nursing and Midwifery Council, Health, General Pharmaceutical Council or Care Professions Council) with a prescribing qualification.

As this is a part‑time position, we welcome applications from practising clinicians who are looking to develop their educational expertise alongside their clinical portfolio.

This is a permanent position, offering one post at 0.4 FTE, working 14.8 hours per week.

Whilst we do welcome applications from all professions, our preference at this time would be for a GPhC‑registered applicant, due to the composition of the current team, to aid team growth and resilience.

£39,906 to £56,535. Grade 7/8, pro rata per annum
