FTE: 1fte (working 37 hours per week)

Salary: UH6 £33,002 pa to £38,784 pa by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience

Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield

Main duties and responsibilities

  • The Department and School Services Team Lead is required to supervise and workload Departmental Administrators who are responsible for a range of functions that support the operational development of School-based business administration processes; this includes documenting, and where appropriate making changes to, processes and providing support to the School Executive Group, Heads of Department and academic staff in the school.
  • This role will undertake a range of supervision duties relating specifically to supporting and advising the Departmental Administrators.
  • The post holder will be expected to provide a strong customer-focused “can do” attitude to both internal and external contacts and will require a high level of initiative as well as sound personal judgement in handling confidential and sensitive material.

Skills and experience required

  • You will have demonstrable IT skills, including proficiency in the use of databases, spreadsheets and standard office software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • You will bring proven line management experience, with the ability to lead and develop teams effectively.
  • You will be adept at working across multiple priorities and departments to achieve objectives, and able to communicate clearly and professionally in a range of formats to a variety of audiences.
  • You will have a strong attention to detail and be able to work accurately under pressure, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • You will have a proven ability to prioritise and manage team workloads, providing clear direction and adapting priorities as required to maintain performance.
  • You will be trusted to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality, and will demonstrate initiative alongside a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Qualifications required

  • You will be educated to a minimum of degree level or to an equivalent standard, or have proven work experience.
